Ricky Martin (born Enrique Martín Morales in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Dec. 24, 1971) is a Puerto Rican singer, actor and author. When he was 12, he joined the all boy group Menudo, but went solo after five years. He also acted on TV in Mexico and also on the American soap opera General Hospital. Ricky released Spanish and English albums throughout his career, and is credited for bringing Latin pop into U.S. mainstream music. His self-titled first English-language album has sold 22 million copies, and is one of the best selling albums of all time. Some of his other albums include Me Amaras, Almas del Silencio and Life. Throughout his career, Ricky has had 95 platinum records, 11 number one hit songs, one Grammy, eight VMAS, and eight World Music Awards, to name a few accomplishments.

Ricky was in a relationship with Mexican TV host Rebecca de Alba for over 14 years, and he reportedly wanted to propose to her. His sexuality was often questioned, and in 2010 he came out as gay in a statement on his official website. He dated economist Carlos González Abella from 2011-2014. Ricky became the father of two twin boys Matteo and Valentino in 2008, who were born by a surrogate mother. He then revealed on Jan. 10, 2018 that he married painter Jwan Yosef in a secret ceremony.
