Less than one year ago, Mariah Carey had a wedding to her billionaire boyfriend James Packer in her future, and she brought cameras along as she tried on wedding dresses for her upcoming E! docu-series.
However, following the couple’s breakup in late October, the footage from Mariah’s World brings a mix of emotions for the 46-year-old singer.
“All of those moments are bittersweet, but you just have to focus on whatever you’re focusing on and keep it moving,” Carey told Entertainment Tonight of watching the show now.
Although Carey continues to wear her her massive 35-carat engagement ring, she seems to have turned to the other men in her life post-breakup. This includes Bryan Tanaka, a backup dancer who has been spotted with the pop star multiple times since her split.
When asked by ET if the two were an item, Carey teased, “You have to just wait and watch the show.”
She’s also been spending time with ex-husband Nick Cannon, with whom she’s remained friendly for the sake of their 5-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan. The former couple even spent Thanksgiving as a family less than a month after their divorce was finalized.
Cannon also appeared on the reality show, but she says it was no big deal.
“It’s more like, he was coming to see the kids anyway so I was like, ‘Do you mind being on the show?’ and he was cool about it,” Carey explained. “It’s just about being really nice with the other parent and not making it a competition or anything like that.”
Mariah’s World premieres Dec. 4 (9 p.m. ET) on E!
